How the Grinch Stole Christmas

On the morning of January, 26th 2020, NBA fans all around the world were in shock when they learned that the basketball legend, Kobe Bryant, had passed away. It felt unreal and a year later, the feelings the same. Kobe’s death marked the beginning of the horror movie 2020 was for most people and resulted in his signature shoe gaining more notoriety. Most of the Kobe’s that released in 2020 sold out immediately as fans were showing their respects to the legend.

On Christmas Day for the first time since 2010, the Kobe Protro Grinch retroed. We were all introduced to the Kobe Grinch on the same day 10 years ago during a game between the Lakers and the Miami with a young LeBron just acquired during the off-season. Kobe won his 5th and last ring the previous season and stepped on the hardwood with lime green sneakers inspired by the green mamba snake. It was until later that sneaker blogs and sneakerheads renamed it the “Grinch” for its resemblance to the character created by Dr. Seuss.

The infamous Kobe 6 Protro Grinch was released on Christmas 2020 at CA$230. It is currently retailing between CA$400 and CA$700.
